"2 Year Update ... Disappointing"

Review Notes: Well, two years later and the cigar is a little smoother, but not much significant improvement otherwise. The fairly light shade of brown wrapper, with a few very noticeable veins, reminds of the look of a Cameroon. I suppose I should not expect Perdomo La Tradicion quality at just a fraction of the price. The cigar is very well constructed, excellent draw and even burn. The medium body of smoke is a decent creamy texture, not the best, but not bad. A good straight forward tobacco flavor, and perhaps the slightest hints of spice and nuts, but I really am having to use too much of my imagination. Once again, the flavor picks up around half way, but not nearly enough to compensate for the mediocre first half of the cigar. So, my ratings will stay the same, except I am dropping the value and overall experience by 2 points each. I was expecting a much better smoke after 2 extra years in the humidified closet. Based on the going rate of $39.95, this Tierra del Sol deserves value of just hmmm, maybe. These were barely worth the $22 I paid. Its not a bad cigar, but a disappointment for a well aged Perdomo product.

"Good Value Bundle ... Needs More Humi Time"

Review Notes: Lucky me, picked up a bundle at auction for $22. Classic Perdomo roll and construction. A decent flavor, which actually picked up and improved when it burned past the halfway point. (This justifies my current ratings of 7.) I have some La Tradicion Rosado from 1999, and they are absolutely fabulous, improving drastically with age. My point is, I thoroughly believe these Tierra del Sols will be very good in 6 months, and great in a couple of years. Pick up a bundle now, they are a bargain for a Perdomo, and let them rest. Thou shalt not be dissappointed.
