"These get better with age."

Review Notes: Nine months of aging produced an attractive, wonderful tasting, easy smoking cigar last night. I found this to be solidly medium in body with some flashes to full. The flavors experienced in my last review were prevelant again in last nights cigar. The aftertaste to this had that..."I-don't-want to-brush-my-teeth-before-bed"... amazingness to it. Additional aging has helped take some of the harsh edges off that others, including myself, initially experienced with these. Do not pay top MSRP $ for these. They can be had on the cheap at C-bid for $3-ish a throw. Lay down a fiver in the box, age them at least 120 days. You'll be glad you did. Value rating base upon $3.

"My buddy Pat loved this."

Review Notes: It's always nice when you can turn someone on to something that rocks their world. This well aged cigar did just that for my buddy Pat last night during a furious game of Trouble on the patio with the kids. It drew well for him but it did canoe on him a bit and he needed the colibri to correct the burn a few times. He had to put it down for an hour but immediately went back and herfed down the rest before leaving. I knew this was special to him when just before he said, "it was the best cigar I've ever had", he tore off the label and tucked it into his wallet so he would'nt forget what he smoked. I must add, he usually smokes cheap, stinky, seconds and is not used to "the good stuff". Take this review with a grain of salt (I've toned down the rankings here a bit...he wanted all tens), but I'm happy for him and I took a great deal of pleasure from his enjoyment. I paid $3/stick at c-bid.

Review Notes: Three more months of aging helped bring out some nice flavors of honey, something floral, and some slight coffee. Much milder in body than the first stick. Nice "plus sized" robusto. Solid construction. Value rating based upon $3.

"A 91 rating?"

Review Notes: Appearance fine. Construction excellent. Flavor was not. I found the flavor to be of a mundane leather and earth that did not hit my palate right. This cigar seemed more full than medium bodied to me. This surprised me. I kept waiting for the sweetness of the cameroon wrapper to balance out the flavor of the Nicarauguan fillers and binders but it never happened. Maybe this is supposed to be a fuller bodied cameroon. That's fine but the flavors were too mundane for me to relax and enjoy. I usually smoke med to full. This cigar had been aging for 45 days. Gauge said good to go. I enjoyed the flavor and medium bodied smoothness of the toro in this line and could understand the "91" CA rating. Not sure what was up with this stick. Definitely not a "90" cigar. I wouldn't call it "nasty" like MeLightEmUp, but it left me surprised especially after smoking the toro. I paid $3. MSRP is in the high $5 range.
