Review Notes: Handsome band helps these tough, rustic looking veiny sticks in the appearance department. I think the "Cuban Cafe" is the consistently best tasting of the Reserve line. The maduro's can be nice but I find them inconsistent; one will be maduro sweet the next spicy. I find the Champagne's and the Cameroon's mundane. Perdomo's usually need a lot of additional aging (65 to 68 humidity please!) to smooth out the intensity of the flavors you'll find in them. This stick came out of my "oldies humidor. It had been there for at least 6 months. The cap was cracked, probably due to my roughness in rotating cigars. I had to cut instead of punching this. Smoked pretty well. Fine draw (a bit loose because of the cut), burn was moderately uneven but sometimes nicely self correcting. (This is the price one sometimes pays for thicker ring gauges). Very deep, rich, hearty, flavors of almonds, earth, wood, and spice within an ever so slightly sweet but hearty tobacco base. Body seemed to be mostly full. I couldn't smoke this past the 41/2 inch mark because it got too hot. Nice "choc full of changing flavors" stick. Not for the mild crowd. These can usually be had for a song on c-bid. I probably paid something like $4/ stick. MSRP by the box is around $7. Value rating based upon $4. Why are there so few reviews of these? Why are these found in so many sample packs?
