Review Notes:
This cigar's construction is one of its first noticeable features. But it doesn't only look nice, it feels like a top shelf rolled cigar. At first light, the aroma foretold an enjoyable smoke- probably a good one for those guys who have wives or girlfriends that get picky about the smell of smoke. I usually don't like to review a cigar after having just one, so I may have to re-review this. But here it goes! The first 1/4 of the cigar started out medium in body, but not in flavor. I noticed it started with a fairly smooth and not a long aftertaste. I could tell that this was going to be a developing smoke. As it smoked into the halfway pont the cigar really started to "open up". It began to go into the medium-full mode, maybe even full mode depending on what you are used to. The smoke changed flavors as the cigar smoked, which is what I love about a good cigar. I had a nice even burn that got a little off, but caught up in no time. I'll admit, I'm still learning what words to use to describe the flavors I get, but whatever they were, I liked 'em! I would say there was some leathery notes, some medium spice, with even some cocoa/coffee.
Overall, a cigar that I would buy a whole lot more of if the price was lower- BUT, for now, its a once in a while smoke. I would like to try the maduro version of this cigar now. So is it worth the asking price? Hmmmm...tough call. If you can get these on special, or with a combo deal on auction, that's the way to go!
