Review Notes: I think age will benefit this cigar tremendously (as with most, if not all ELs). It was solidly built, with a dark, almost maduro wrapper and only a few, thin veins. There was a small split in the wrapper at the foot, (which helped me decide to burn this one first). Clipped cleanly and drew perfectly the whole way down. Flavors of spice and toasted tobacco dominated, with a nice sweetness to balance out. The spice was prominent during the first and last bits, leaving a tingling sensation on my tongue and lips. There was the slightest grassy taste of young tobacco about halfway through. The finish was smooth and of sweet coffee and toasty tobacco. The burn was nearly perfect, with only a couple of tiny corrections needed (and they probably would have fixed themselves, but I didn't want them to get out of hand on a stick this small), and a perfect draw that let big clouds of smooth, pillowy smoke rest on my palate. Burned for a cool 40 mins, drawing constantly, and could have lasted even longer, had I the patience to let it rest properly between draws. Still, it never once got harsh or hot, even down to a 3/4" nub. The ash, for those who care, was light grey and solid. I think this would be a good one to try aging and see what it turns into. Hopefully it gains more sweetness and smooths out the edges, then it would be really terrific. If it's anything like the Magnum 50 ELs, it shoud be a great smoke within a few years. Highly recommended for those who normally smoke smaller cigars, but for folks who like bigger sticks, this might leave them a little unsatisfied. I felt a slight buzz after I was done, but the strength overall was mostly a medium body. Flavor was medium to full, with a nice kick of spice on the palate and through the nose. Should at least be tried and added to the collection for it's unique size.
