Review Notes: I revisited this cigar after 3 years of rest, and it seemed to actually LOSE flavor! (See my review of the '06 cojonu, same sad story) My notes from '06 say that it's box mate was spicy and sweet, with coffee and leather on the palate and a deep, rich tobacco aroma. Fast-forward to '09 and it's turned dull and muted, with the same terrible burn as the first ones I had. The flavors seemed the same, just WAY less intense. I'm shocked that it didn't gain any complexity or depth, since it should have aged perfectly for 3 years @ 67% RH. The constant canoeing and corrections led to a bitter, charred taste in the second half and I put it out of it's misery with almost 2" left. Has anyone else shared a similar experience? I'm confused. These sticks were all purchased from my favorite retail shop back in 2006, I guess it's possible that with the hype back then they had some bad boxes due to overproduction... Either way, I enjoyed it young and didn't the other night. Weird! I rated it based on the first smokes, to be fair.
