Review Notes: My first impression as I'm finishing this cigar is: A Dominican puro?! Get outta here! I would have guessed it was Nicaraguan or Cuban in a blind tasting if it were shaped differently. Mine wasn't built very well, so I would have leaned towards Cuban. It looked great, dark oily colorado wrapper with some slight veins and that all-original shape. Had a nice weight to it and felt good and smooth in the hand. No problems clipping, I just snipped it with my xikar scissors at about 1/4" and lit it up. The draw was lush and perfect, but the burn needed constant attention to avoid canoeing. The smoke was terrific, though. Spicy in the beginning, it quickly mellowed out to a rich tobacco flavor with some leathery and nutty notes and a nice sweetness to balance things out. The spiciness made a shadow of a comeback in he last 3rd, but was available anytime with a good double-puff if I wanted it. Not as complex or as strong as I expected, but overall just a great cigar, minus the burn issues. The aroma was sweet and earthy with a little spice, just a rich tobacco bouquet. Not worth what I paid ($19/ea. for a few singles), but I would definitely consider buying a box @ just under $10/stick from the internet. Recommended!
