Review Notes:
Not quite what I expected, but not bad... Maybe I just wasn't in the mood for this one tonight. It was fairly well built, but the maduro wrapper caused it to burn unevenly, requiring a couple of corrections. The draw was on the tight side, but delivered nice, big clouds of smoke. The flavors were profoundly earthy, with some leathery notes, and some charred wood that made me purge it a few times. (I'm not a fan of charry, tarry flavors) A hint of spiciness kicked in in the second half, but not really anything more than a slight tongue tingle. The aroma coming off the foot, however, was very nice. For a while coming into the last 3rd, it smelled really like a sweet, chocolatey mocha with loads of cream and a bit of spice to me. I think that was my favorite part. If the cigar tasted the way it smelled, I would have really loved it! It would have been enough to make me question if it was artificially flavored haha! Overall, it was on the lighter side of medium, turning to a fuller medium in the last 2". I can't say I really enjoyed it, but on a different day, in a different mood, I probably would. I think my palate just wasn't feelin' the earthiness tonight. A nice (just not mind-blowing) 35 min. smoke.
