Review Notes: Due to the hype (justified or not) and manipulation by the Fuente people, these things are hard to find and harder to find at a decent price. They also require a time commitment to smoke with full meal beforehand; post-Thanksgiving dinner is a good occasion. This beautiful looking cigar has a mostly even burn and a smooth and easy draw that produces thick clouds of aromatic smoke. Red peppery spice at the start is joined by strong black coffee, earthy, and black cherry flavors with a long and spicy finish. Smooth and elegant, it's not as overpowering as the smaller sizes, but a buzz does gradually develop since it's a big cigar that'll take at least 90 minutes to smoke. A great cigar which could stand on its own without all the fanfare. No. 1 in Cigar Aficionado's top 25 cigars of 2005.
