Review Notes: No. 11 in Cigar Aficionado's top 25 cigars of 2004. This cigar is hard to find; I couldn't find any locally so I had to send away for a couple. It looks good with a dark and oily wrapper and the unique wedge-shaped head. With an unusual shape I was expecting some construction problems, but the cigar smokes very well; the burn and draw are even and consistent, and it forms a solid ash. It does need an occasional retouch, especially after an ashing. As advertised, it's a spicy, earthy, and leathery smoke; the flavors are smooth balanced although they don't change much from beginning to end, which seems to be the complaint with this cigar. It's also not as strong as I was expecting, but definitely on the strong side of medium. It's a good cigar, but given the high price and the rarity and the hype from the magazines, I guess I was expecting more.
