Review Notes: I'm sitting here finishing my first 601 "Red Label" and there's so much to like: great texture, good oils and a rich, dark aroma.like moist, musty earth, all before lighting. Although not the easiest lighting, it burns evenly and consistently. The smoke is rich but not overly heavy; the ash firm and compact. Wonderful spicy taste (combination of anise and white or green pepper) and earth tones, with a dry-grass-y undercurrent which mellows quickly, becoming slightly sweeter toward the end. I've already had the 601 "Green" and made it favorite and this is right there with it. On to the "Blue" - I'm betting on a hat trick!
