Review Notes: It's only been 3 1/2 months since my last review and this maduro is showing promise. It's now, providing more of the usual chocolate/cocoa traditional maduro flavor profile, along with some wood (cedar) and earth. Nice clean even slow burn. The wrapper has an appealing somewhat rugged look to it. I paired it with a nice Beringer white wine and took it to the nub. I can't speak for everyone one but it's getting better (as expected) with time. Check them out...they're good stuff.

Review Notes: I guess I'll kick off this selection. I picked up a 5 pack from CI for about $3.70 or so per stick, with shipping and handling included. I only had them in the cooler for about a week or so because I really wanted to sample the new maduro. To sum in up...at this point (considering the limited time in the humidor), I wasn't overwhelmed...but then again, I wasn't disappointed either. This cigar had a nice even consitant burn. The same flavor was fairly constant from start to finish. Many would consider that "one-dimensional" but it really was more of a subtle transition. Once lit it produced a fairly strong charred oak flavor but then quickly softened to more of a black cherry dark semi-sweet chocolate profile. It held this flavor almost to the band but became somewhat softer about mid-way. I'm willing to concede the cognac I was sipping may of influenced the character interpetation a bit, but not that much. Overall, I intend to try the others I have and report the results accordingly. I believe these cigars will come into their own. I'm not, as yet, impressed with them as much as their natural wrapper counterparts but I think there's more to this story? All that aside, I'd suggest trying them. Bottomline...they're good...I just think they've got a ways yet to go.
