Review Notes: Appearance: Beautiful dark, veiny wrapper. Construction looks impeccable, softer to the touch than many other cigars indicates draw is not going to be a problem. Has a distinct smell of pepper. I cut it pretty far down to be sure to open it up. First draw produces a good amount of white smoke and complex flavors reveal themselves at once. The first third has ample pepper, some wood and earth. The finish is very long and gives me some sweetness, like molasses. The strength is full but not overpowering. The ash holds on well and is almost completely white in color. At the halfway point, the pepper dies down somewhat and gives way to some coffee or chocolate, I can’t decide which. Also I get an undertone of wet grass. I’ve never had this before in a cigar. At any rate, it’s very pleasant. Strength continues to be close to full. Draw and burn is ideal. Final third continues to give me a combination of spices and sweetness. I really like the complexity. This is not a one dimensional cigar. It does not get overly hot to the touch and I can smoke it down to the nub. Total smoke time was just over an hour. After putting it out, I continue to get several minutes of finish. Despite its strength, I’m not light headed in any way. I would not recommend this to the brand new cigar smoker, but for anyone looking for a full and flavorful cigar, this would be ideal. I smoked this one at the end of the evening, following two other cigars. I rate the Ninja highly, an 8 or 9 out of 10, mostly for the complexity. It’s definitely one to share with friends to find out their take on the cigar.
