Review Notes: The first couple of these I smoked were ugly, but my next shipment (of 10) were all smooth and milk chocolate brown. Some earth right from the start, balanced by a hint of sweetness. Develops an easygoing complexity by the second half with a creamy, almost toffee-like finish. Once again, impeccable construction. This one also makes me rethink Mexican wrappers. In the hands of Senor Sanchez, the earth of the Mexican leaf adds depth and a slightly spicy tingle without dominating the profile. A great medium bodied smoke.

Review Notes: Just had my first LTC, and I can see why this boutique brand has earned a stellar rep. The Mexican wrapper is light (for a maduro), mottled and gritty. Burn and draw are among the best I've encountered. The first third is pleasant but rather ordinary. Then it develops an increasingly rich flavor of coffee and cream with a touch of earth. Blindfolded, I can't swear I'd peg this for a maduro. It never gets beyond medium strength, but it's chewy and quite complex by the end. An expertly crafted, well-aged smoke that's ready to work its way into the rotation right away.
