Review Notes: This is #3 out of a fiver I picked up almost exactly one year ago. This one didn't pack the same punch as the one I reviewed in May, but it was a solid stick nonetheless. Most noteworthy was the build. Perfect draw that never heated up despite the fact that I was hitting it frequently. For the first 2/3 the flavor was typical Fonseca -- woody with a slightly sweet, almost citrusy tang. However, it also developed some earth, spice and cocoa on the final third. Be patient with this one, as it can be a bit one-dimensional before the more complex ending. Oh, and if you pay anything approaching MSRP, you'll be disappointed.

Review Notes: A few months rest works wonders for these. I reluctantly snagged one of the box tonight after being relatively unimpressed four months ago. First time around around, I waited in vain for the flavors to open up. This one started off woody and tangy again, but with more complexity, including a mushroomy earthiness. It gradually changed gears, turning peppery and ultimately quite strong. A pleasant surprise. I'm a believer...

"A tick above average"

Review Notes: Dry, ruddy wrapper. Medium bodied. Woody with a slightly fruity tang. Good build and nice flavors, but like many other Quesada/MATASA blends I've tried, it doesn't evolve much. A shorter format, 5 or 5.5 inches, would've better held my attention.
