Review Notes: I must admit I was skeptical about this cigar. Like so many of us seem to do, we look and buy countless stogies to see if that next one will be exactly what we are looking for. All too often we end up disappointed and keep going back to blow some more coin on another one that is good in some respects but has some drawback to it or will become tiring quickly. This cigar is perfect for me in every way (OK. So the price is the drawback here.) This is NOT your typical Tatuaje! It's almost like the flavors were "dusted" onto the cigar. EVERYTHING here is in perfect harmony! It starts off with a dose of white pepper and in 1/2 inch begins the change. Everything here is, in my opinion, much less "in your face" than the other Tats. The flavor turns to a dry earth with wood flavor. The spice begins. Then a wonderful honey sweetness stays in the background until the final 2 inches. Spice really raises its head the last 2 inches and there is just a bit of chocolate in the background. What is so different about this cigar to me is that the pallet is left fresh with very little aftertaste the entire cigar! This is not the typical aftertaste of the rest of the Tatuaje line. It is very clean. This is a is VERY complex smoke but at the same time is medium bodied to me and does taste very Cubanesque. It tastes well aged out of the box (coded Dec. '07). There is NO harshness whatsoever. I will admit that the box I received was a bit moist and I had to keep relighting at first but 68% humidity has taken care of the problem. If you want a very full bodied smoke this will be a bit of a let down. Other than that, 'Please sir, may I have more?'
