Review Notes: When I started smoking cigars 15 years ago I fell in love with all the fuentes, hemmingways, and don carlos that i could get my hands on. I subsequently quit smoking cigars and just went back to smoking about a year ago. I still had about 75 stick of the various brands in my humidors. While waiting to see if they would come back and be smokable (they were after a few months of rehumidifying) I bought a couple of boxes of Best Sellers. I guess my tastes have changed, but i have found much better cigars for a lot less price and I am fonder of stronger cigars and my preference tends to be nicaraguan now rather than d.r., such as nubs, oliva, and camachos, and more towards habano and maduro, rather than cameroon and conncecticut. Still , this morning I went for a walk and took a Best Seller with me. It is one of the newer ones, maybe 6 months old and has been humidified properly. Upon inspection, i noticed some glue on the wrapper seeping forth from under the band. The best thing about the cigar, is that I really like the shape of it, and it is a great size for a 30 minutes smoke. While smoking it, the wrapper split slightly in 2 different places. Taste was nowheres near the way I think they were back in the old days. Burn was ok, but not perfect. I am moving on to other brands. I still have about 40 of these left and I wish I could trade them for something else. Certainly wont buy any more of them at $6.50 a pop for such a short smoke and a flavor I dont care for much anymore. Needless to say, I feel a bit sad about this.
