Review Notes: Careful to avoid what I would characterize as "Opus X" hype, I've slowly developed a thorough appreciation for Fuente's Opus X. Like every review in this database, this review is a subjective view into my perceptions, tastes, and opinions of this and other cigars. That all said, I respectfully disagree with the prior reviewers comments - this cigar is easily a first tier smoke and I can't imagine anyone smoking one and saying it was "average." I use a Daniel Marshall and two Prometheus Humidors. I keep them at around 68 degrees and 70 to 72 humidity. I've never had a bad No. 2. Some have been "better" than others - with slight richness of flavor versus what I would describe as the typical "opus x flavor." I would strongly recommend anyone try this cigar. All this said, I must agree that after you try this cigar, if you don't love it - the $17 to $20+ you just spent will burn a bit. Appearance - Please - there is no more beautiful a cigar - especially after these have some age on them. Construction - even crisp burn - medium to light grey-white ash. I've smoked over 50 of these and they consistantly burn an inch and a half to two inches without fear of the ash falling off. Flavor is wonderful - strong, but soft (especially with some age). Spicy before the light and mellows thereafter. Nice rich flavor and wonderful aroma. (unless you are my wife). Value - Does anyone agree in this category? The cigar is more expensive than I would like, but for my enjoyment it is an excellent value. Overall smoking experience. Great cigars.

"A fine cigar with a long finish"

Review Notes: To run the risk of sounding laconic, this cigar was superb! Its physical beauty is only amplified by the complex series of wonderful flavors that can only be characterized as an Opus X. The cigar burned with a crisp even edge for nearly half an hour, turning slightly and then righting itself for the finish. The ash was soft and smooth, wanting nothing more than to remain attached to what could be described as a prince among cigars. Flavors ranged from roasted nuts to coffee, with an enduring soft finish that left you wanting more. I paid $13 for this cigar - you will be hard pressed to locate a finer cigar at this price. As the second of two of these fine cigars this month, I must say that the experience was overwhelmingly a pleasure. Take your time with this cigar, find a relaxing place to slowly draw and give the cigar plenty of time to settle down. You will not be disappointed!
