Review Notes:
I had no problem lighting the stick, and it started out burning evenly. It had a slightly bitter taste for the first 1/4 of the cigar and definitely a more full-bodied flavor. This is not the start that I want in an after-dinner smoke on the deck. However, by the end of the first third of the cigar, the bitterness had gone away, and the cigar became very mild. The flavors were still good, just not overly powerful. The flavors shifted from a strong peppery flavor to a very smooth nutty flavor with hints of a buttery undertone. By this time, it was truly relaxing. But also by this time, it had begun to smoke unevenly, a problem that continued to worsen until the very end. It never straightned by out. By the last third of the stick, the stronger flavors began to come back out, but they never became overpowering. I would consider this an excellent cigar for a during-the-day smoke after lunch with work buddies, but not for a relaxing evening on the deck. The smell of the smoke is not nearly as offensive as some cigars that I have smoked, in fact the woman that I was with commented that she kind of like the smell. This is very unusual to say the least. The appearance of the cigar was excellent, and the pre-smoke aroma and fllavor was good. The construction was subpar. The wrapper did not hold together well, and I can not help but think that this may be part of the reason for the second binding ring (one on each end). However, others have not mentioned this, so it could be just my experience. I would classify this cigar as above average, but I was disappointed. Many reviews indicated that this was a 9+ (90+), but I would not classify it in the same league as my Rockys and Ashtons. Still good, just not great.
