Review Notes: This was the first cigar I rated on this website. I thought it appropriate that the #1 rated would also be my 100th rated. I smoked and rated quite a few more, but didn't realize I had to login, so they didn't count. Anyway, I smoked my first H. Upmann Churchill during my Christmas Vacation in 2003. Nearly five years later it's a very good cigar, but maybe because of the added experience of a couple of hundred cigars or so, this cigar is not quite the ultimate smoke that I once thought. It's still a top tier smoke, but I can easily think of a half dozen nonflavored cigars that are significantly better. This stick starts out spicy and then hints of leather and nuts appear. The beginning and the ending thirds are the best. No burn or draw issues, plus it's an attractive cigar. It's a little short for a churchill, but still a fine looking cigar. I just get a little sentimental that things aren't what they used to be. I just think cigars in general have improve, especially in taste.
