Construction: Beautiful toothy, oily, light chocolate brown wrapper with one minor vein. Solid roll with no soft spots. Clipped clean.

Smoking Notes: Initial impression is the classic Dominican profile of mild toasty tobacco and light cedar and coffee notes with the cammie wrapper adding a characteristic honey and lemon oil sweetness. The smoke is very soft, smooth and light. By 1/3 the cigar has warmed adding some excellent cocoa notes to the core flavors. The cammie wrapper is likewise more predominant, delivering classic hot cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger notes. By mid-point, the flavors have intensified into a shifting mix of aromatic cedar, coffee and cocoa with the cammie spice deepening to a definite black pepper note. The sweet honey and lemon oil finish remains as a nice counterpoint. At 2/3 the core backs off a bit, turning back to a more toasty, woody profile and the very peppery cammie spice lightening a bit. Never turned bitter or tarry as I nubbed it. An excellent 50 min smoke.
Overall Impression: A full-flavored mild to mild-medium smoke, the Hemingway line is probably “the” classic Dominican cammie. Add in the gorgeous perfect shape and this is one super example of the cigar roller’s art. I love this line and the short perfecto format of the Short Story and Best Seller make them a winter favorite when I’m forced to the sun porch. To my taste, the 2005 release is particularly cedary and sweet - highly recommended. I rate the whole line a solid
