La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Lancero Cameroon

The Double Ligero Lancero Cameroon, while not labeled as a limited edition, is a rare cigar that you won’t find without some effort. Supposedly only 100 boxes of 20 were produced. The Double Ligero Lancero also comes with Ecuadorian Sumatra or Ecuadorian Sumatran Oscuro wrappers which are also rare, though not as much as the Cameroon. It is a full-bodied cigar, and the Ligero leaves used in its construction are among the strongest leaves of the tobacco plant.
The Double Ligero Lancero Cameroon has a nice, long profile and measures 7.5x39. It has a filler and binder from the Dominican Republic and a Cameroon wrapper. The cigar is pretty dark in color and you will probably notice many small veins throughout its body. It is semi-firm to the touch with some softness in certain parts. An attractive band rests near the head of the cigar, showing a colorful flower as the company’s logo surrounded in red along with the company name. The band’s borders are a gold and black pattern and on the bottom of the band you have Double Ligero printed. Giving it the once over before lighting reveals a bit of a spicy taste and rich scent of tobacco.
Once the Double Ligero Lancero Cameroon is lit, it is a joy to be had. The burn is very even, with an excellent draw and tight, solid ash. You can tell that the cigar is constructed well, despite the difficulty involved in rolling such a long and thin stick. The overall flavor is excellent as well. You get a good bit of fruity flavor towards the beginning, with some spice mixed in. You also experience some hints of nut, with the majority of the cigar moving back and forth between the fruity and spicy flavors.
La Flor Dominicana scored a hit with the Double Ligero Lancero Cameroon. The burn is almost flawless and a real testament to the care that went into making the cigar. The flavor is equally good, and should be enjoyed by fans of full-bodied smokes or those who enjoy Cameroon wrappers. A single goes for a retail price of about $10.95, which is a bit pricey, but you are getting a cigar that is not only limited but an excellent smoke. It also comes in boxes of 20. The Double Ligero Lancero Cameroon earns a rating of 3.5 out of four stars.
