The Namakubi Tiburon makes a good first impression with its tan wrapper. It has quite the oily sheen, some small veins, and a bit of tooth. The band near the head is a looker with its black and bright red colors. It features the Namakubi name in wild cursive as well as the Room101 LTD label. The cigar appears to be put together well with no real imperfections. The cap is nicely done, and feeling the cigar lets me know that it is not lacking in tobacco by any means. The pre-light aroma is sweet. The cold taste, on the other hand, is earthy.
The solid appearance of the Namakubi Tiburon successfully translates into a great burn. No touch-ups or re-lights are necessary, allowing me to fully enjoy what the cigar has to offer. The draw is good and the aroma is very light. The light-colored ash is solid too.
Flavor-wise, the Tiburon exhibits nice complexity that keeps the smoking experience from reaching a dull point. It begins with a fresh citrus flavor that is really clean. Spice soon enters the picture. It’s not so much a strong pepper, but something else I cannot put my finger on. Nonetheless, it adds a nice kick to the equation. The spice becomes stronger in the second third, but never reaches the point of being overbearing. Sweetness and more citrus also appear. The final third is a mix of more spice, leather, and wood. Medium to full-bodied seems like the perfect description for the Tiburon.
I can say without fear of equivocation that the Namakubi Tiburon has opened my eyes to the Room101 brand. I enjoyed the cigar’s concept and presentation. The burn was excellent and so was the flavor. A single has a suggested retail price of $8, and you can also purchase the Tiburon in boxes of 20. A box purchase is definitely tempting, mostly because the cigar is unique and not run of the mill.
The Room101 LTD Namakubi Tiburon earns a rating of 3.75 out of four stars.
