The flavor packed within the Arturo Fuente Curly Head Deluxe Natural is not the greatest in the world, but it’s not bad either.  It’s medium-bodied and smooth throughout.  The first third begins with some mild spice and creaminess.  This theme continues into the second third and is joined by some nuts.  The final third offers up more cream and nuts.  There’s not much complexity, but, as I said, it was smooth and enjoyable.

I didn’t expect the Fuente Curly Head Deluxe Natural to blow me away, as it is a budget cigar.  It met my expectations, and the only true complaint would be the uneven burn that required maintenance.   The flavor is nothing to write home about, but I could see this as a good cigar when doing chores.  Priced at around $2 to $3 each, it won’t break your budget.  Pick up a box of 25 if you are looking for some medium-bodied cigars to keep around the house.  If you’re expecting complexity and an out of this world smoking experience, look elsewhere.  This is definitely a case of you get what you pay for.

The Arturo Fuente Curly Head Deluxe Natural earns a rating of 3.25 out of four stars.

Don Tomas Cameroon Robusto

The Don Tomas Cameroon line comes to us from General Cigar Co.  It’s an affordable cigar that is also supposed to be pretty good, as it rated highly in Cigar Aficionado.  Described as bold and spicy, the Don Tomas Cameroon features an interesting blend of tobaccos from various countries, so I am looking forward to an enjoyable experience here.

The Don Tomas Cameroon Robusto measures 5 1/2 x 52.  Other sizes in the line include the 4 x 48 Perfecto #1, 4 1/2 x 50 Rothschild, 5 x 48 Perfecto #2, 6 x 48 Perfecto #3, 7 x 48 Perfecto Crystals, 7 x 48 Perfecto #4, and the 7 1/2 x 52 Double Corona.  The cigar’s filler is a blend of Brazilian, Dominican, and Mexican tobaccos.  A Dominican binder comes next, and a Cameroon wrapper completes the composition.  The strength of the Don Tomas Cameroon is listed as being medium to full-bodied.
