The wrapper is medium-brown in color and has a good amount of oil on the surface. There are no major imperfections. Only a few minor veins are visible. The cigar also appears to be well-packed and firm to the touch. Two classy decorative bands showcase the AVO logo and the 85th Anniversary label. Just before lighting, the cold taste is of cedar, while the scent is sweet.

It doesn't take long to light the Diademas, and once lit, it burns well for the most part. The draw is good and there's a nice volume of smoke produced. The gray ash is solid too. The burn is mostly even, but it does require a couple of touch-ups along the way. No re-lights are needed.
