Perhaps the rarest and highest rated brand in the world, the OpusX has a world-renowned reputation for quality and class. It is full bodied with a rich and robust flavor.

The Fuente OpusX is one of the rarest cigars in the world. It is elusive to almost every smoker because of its limited production. Prior to 1990 the Dominican Republic was well know for its filler and binder tobacco. Growing wrapper tobacco on the island proved impossible due to the topography of the land and the wind. Carlos Fuente Jr. set out on a mission to be the first cigar maker in the Dominican Republic to successfully grow wrapper tobacco.

The OpusX was an overnight success. It consistently receives the highest ratings from industry publications and continues to be the pinnacle of fine cigars. Almost impossible to find, this cigar is widely considered the “best of the best”.

In my opinion. I had the pleasure of having an Opus yesterday and I must say and reiterate that the Opus is not the cigar that I was introduced to some time ago. While the price has steadily increased the quality has decreased. I was even told my one of my local cigar shop owners that those who smoke Opus X are misguided by the hype.

I attended the "Smoking Good Time" at Morongo Casino in S. Calif on 13 March 2011, which featured the Arturo Fuente Opus X and Arturo in person. Cost was $25 and well worth the price for snacks, a rum drink, $20 voucher in the casino and a couple of cigars; fantastic views from the 26th floor meeting room where maybe 120 of us gathered to mingle and smoke. HOWEVER, my Opus X was over humidified and tended to go out if not puffed furiously; in addition the construction was poor and continued to burn down the side even with several relights. Several others in my group had the same problems---and this is not the first poorly constructed Opus X I have encountered. So quality control seems to be an issue here.
