The different flavors experienced when smoking the Heritage Puro Sol are quite enjoyable.  The cigar gets off to a sweet and smooth start.  There’s also a bit of mild spice in the first third.  The second third continues with the sweet and spicy notes, but also introduces nuts and earth.  The final third finishes things off with chocolate, sweetness, and more nuts.

Ashton has never disappointed me in the past, and they continued to impress me with the Heritage Puro Sol.  The cigar excels in all aspects and I have no complaints.  It had me from the start with its appearance and that positive impression remained with the burn and flavor.  At $10 per single, the Puro Sol is not cheap.  Still, I would pick up a single or five-pack at least to keep handy for special occasions.  You can also find this smooth stogie in boxes of 25.

The Ashton Heritage Puro Sol Churchill earns a rating of 3.75 out of four stars.

Flor de Gonzalez 90 Miles Robusto

alt

The 90 Miles by Flor de Gonzalez received some notoriety due to its high ratings.  As for the 90 Miles name, it refers to the distance separating the United States and Cuba.  According to the brand’s website, they created the cigar as a tribute to the U.S. to thank the country for the freedom that it has provided.  Well, I definitely like the catchy name and am expecting good things from the 90 Miles, but will it deliver?  Let’s light it up and find out.

The Flor de Gonzalez 90 Miles Robusto measures 5.5 x 50.  The line’s other sizes include the 6 x 52 Toro, 6.5 x 52 Torpedo, and the 7 x 48 Churchill.  The cigar consists of all Nicaraguan tobaccos taken from different regions within the country.  Some of the tobacco has been fermented and aged to offer a smooth smoking experience.  The wrapper is listed as being of the Habano Rosado variety.  As for the cigar’s strength, it is listed as being medium to full-bodied.
