At first glance, I give the J. Fuego Connoisseur a solid grade in terms of its appearance.  A yellow, black, and gold band near the head showcases the J. Fuego name and logo along with the Connoisseur name.  A smaller band at the foot also displays the J. Fuego Cigar Company name.  The cigar itself looks and feels smooth to the touch.  There’s some oil on the wrapper and a few veins dot the surface.  Just before lighting I notice a cold taste of earth, while the cigar’s aroma is sweet.

After lighting, the J. Fuego Connoisseur lights with ease.  The draw is easy and the gray ash is solid in nature, holding for well over an inch in length.  A good amount of smoke is emitted from the cigar.  Burning time is around 90 minutes.  During that time, no touch-ups are needed to keep the burn even.  Re-lights are not necessary either.  An A-plus in this department.

In terms of the J. Fuego Connoisseur’s flavor, it offers a good dose of complexity while being smooth at the same time. It begins with an interesting mix of wood, spice, sweetness, and earth in the first third. The spice is not too strong, but provides just enough of a kick to let you know it’s there. The second third offers up more spice and sweetness plus some coffee. The final third finishes things off with coffee, leather, and caramel.

I must say that the J. Fuego Connoisseur impressed me.  It offered full-body and full-flavor in an attractive shell.  I would recommend the Connoisseur to experienced smokers seeking something full-bodied and tasty.  A single hovers in the $10 range, and you can also find it in boxes of 12.

The J. Fuego Connoisseur earns a rating of 3.75 out of four stars.

That does it for today's reviews on these two full-bodied beauties.  Keep it here for more cigar reviews and news in the future on Puff.com.
