So I finally moved off the ship and into a house out
in town. It's a lot easier to enjoy a cigar. I still have to smoke outside, but
I don't have a bunch of idiots making stupid comments. So I've been smoking
about 1 cigar a day now, and I just realized I haven't posted any reviews, so
here goes.
CAO Black Robusto
Wrapper: Connecticut seed Equadorian grown
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan, Honduran, and Mexican
Construction: Nice and firm with no major veins. Nice and smooth.
Pre-light: A very smooth creamy taste. Nice cedary aroma.
Draw: Easy with a little more than a touch of firmness. Perfect.
Smoking Notes: The first inch of this cigar was very smooth and creamy with just
a hint of spice every once in a while. The ash was a dark grey and held almost 2
inches before falling. After about the halfway mark the flavor and body picked
up with some cedar notes and a little more spice. Smoked it down to an inch and
it never burned hot or bitter.
Overall impression: I love this cigar. It has a flavor unlike any I've had
before. It was almost reminicient of hot mulled cider. The construction and
presentation were beautiful. Each cigar is individually wrapped in cedar with a
black ribbon wrapped around the foot. I may buy a box. They come in limited
edition numbered boxes, and i'm a sucker for a gimmick.
