caoconcert1 The new CAO Concert Roadie and the Tabacos Baez Serie H Famosos go under the microscope for today’s cigar reviews, so keep reading to find out what they have to offer.

CAO Concert Roadie

This year’s IPCPR offered a closer look at many new and upcoming releases from a host of cigar companies, and CAO took part in the action by introducing its edgy Concert line. In case you could not tell by its name, the September release carries a musical theme that shines through in its attractive band and eye-catching box that resembles a guitar amplifier. I can definitely say that the Concert’s theme has me intrigued, but will that translate into an enjoyable cigar?

The CAO Concert Roadie measures 5 1/2 x 54. The line also comes in a few other sizes that carry musical names: the 5 1/2 x 46 Amp, 5 1/2 x 50 Solo, and the 5 1/2 x 60 Stage. The cigar features a filler blend made up of four different Honduran and Nicaraguan tobaccos. The binder is Connecticut Broadleaf, and an Ecuadorian Habano Rosado wrapper tops things off. In terms of strength, the CAO Concert is said to be medium to full-bodied.

The first thing I notice when looking at the CAO Concert Roadie is its attractive band. It has a rock star look to it, with the logo being in the shape of a guitar pick. It showcases the CAO Concert name, along with the words Perfect Harmony on each side. The black and gold colors look great. The second thing I notice is the cigar’s dark, inviting wrapper. There’s some oil that’s visible, as well as a few minor veins. The cigar feels firm to the touch and has no soft spots. A sweet aroma comes through prior to lighting the Concert Roadie. The cold taste, on the other hand, is reminiscent of spicy pepper.

The CAO Concert Roadie lights with ease. The draw is just right. Plenty of thick smoke is produced, and the ash is solid and light gray in color. The burn stays even on its own without any help. No re-lighting is necessary either.
