After seeing the cigar’s tagline, I was prepared for a “concert of flavors”, I suppose. While I don’t really get that from smoking the roadie, it is a solid smoke overall. The first third starts things off with a burst of spicy pepper. Sweetness soon comes into the mix as well. In the second third the pepper picks up a tad in strength. Some sweet and creamy notes are also present at this time. The final third ends things on a smooth note with more sweet and creamy flavors. This is a cigar that is definitely medium to full-bodied. Not too mild, and not too strong.

After smoking the CAO Concert Roadie, I can say that I enjoyed the cigar. I wouldn’t call it memorable, but it was solid all around. I guess I expected more complexity, but it was consistent at least. A single retails for $6.75, which is not too bad. You can also find the roadie in attractive boxes of 24. Pick up a box if you are a music and cigar fan looking for a collector’s item. If you enjoy CAO cigars and want something medium to full-bodied, the Concert is not a bad choice.

The CAO Concert Roadie earns a rating of 3.5 out of four stars.

Tabacos Baez Serie H Famosos

Tabacos Baez is a brand that comes from the well-respected Garcia family of cigar makers. The Baez name comes from the town in Cuba where Don Pepin Garcia was raised and picked up much of his cigar making experience that has allowed him to become one of the most well-known names in the industry. Having smoked several cigars from Don Pepin and his family in the past, I am expecting good things from this Serie H Famosos I am about to light up.

Measuring 5 x 50, the Tabacos Baez Serie H Famosos comes in a Robusto format. Other sizes in the line include the 5 1/2 x 52 Favoritos and the 6 1/2 x 52 Monarcas. The interior of the Serie H consists of Nicaraguan Cuban Seed tobaccos. The exterior, on the other hand, is made up of a Habano wrapper that gives the Serie H its name. In terms of strength, the Serie H is said to be medium-bodied.
