As far as flavor is concerned, the Flathead V554 Camshaft isn’t complex, but it is enjoyable.  Chocolate, pepper, and earth make up the first third. The pepper offers a nice wakeup call, and becomes a bit bolder in the second third. More chocolate appears at the halfway point, as do notes of sweetness. The final third is mostly sweet and chocolaty.  I’d put the strength at medium to full-bodied overall.

You don’t have to be a car enthusiast to enjoy what the V554 Camshaft has to offer.  You just have to like quality cigars, because that’s exactly what it is.  It’s not an overly complex cigar, but what’s there is enjoyable.  You can get a single for around $7, which isn’t too bad.  Other sizes in the line retail from $6.75 to $9.50 per single, and I must say that the 7 x 70 V770 Big Block is tempting, so maybe I’ll give that a shot in a future review.

The CAO Flathead V554 Camshaft earns a rating of 3.5 out of four stars.

Cuenca 5 Anniversary Torpedo

As far as I can tell, Cuenca is more of a Florida-based retailer than an actual cigar brand.  They’re located in Hollywood, Florida, and they released the 5 Anniversary cigar to commemorate their five years in the biz.  Blender A.J. Fernandez helped create the cigar in Nicaragua, and it’s described as being medium to full-bodied in strength, full-flavored, and spicy.

The Cuenca 5 Anniversary Torpedo measures 7 x 54.  It has a filler blend of Dominican and Nicaraguan tobacco.  The binder (said to be "experimental")is of the Criollo Cubana 2010 variety, and a Nicaraguan Ligero Jalapa wrapper tops things off.
