Speaking of flavor, I wouldn’t call the Exodus 1959 overly complex. With that being said, it is enjoyable. Chocolate and sweetness kick off the festivities, and they continue throughout the first third. The second third packs a tiny punch with some pepper. Coffee is noticeable here as well. The final third rounds things out with savory chocolate and cocoa.

So, the Exodus 1959 Torpedo was not the most diverse cigar I’ve had, but it was consistent and tasty. I thoroughly enjoy chocolate, so you could say I’m a bit biased in my favorable comments on the Exodus 1959. A single sells for around $7 each, and you can also find the cigar in boxes of 24 or packs of five. If you are looking for a ton of complexity, look elsewhere. However, if you enjoy the Toraño brand and like cigars with a sweet, chocolaty profile, give the Exodus 1959 Torpedo a shot.

The Carlos Toraño Exodus 1959 Torpedo earns a rating of 3.5 out of four stars.

Carlos Toraño 1916 Cameroon Robusto

The 1916 Cameroon line is another release that commemorates a special year for the Toraño family. 1916 is the year in which Don Santiago Toraño emigrated from Spain to Cuba, which effectively launched the family’s storied legacy in the cigar industry. I’ll be saluting Don Santiago Toraño’s journey myself today by smoking one of the line’s Robusto offerings.

The 1916 Cameroon Robusto measures 5 ½ x 52. Toraño also offers the line in three other sizes: the 5 ½ x 42 Corona, 6 ½ x 54 Torpedo, and 7 x 48 Churchill. The cigar’s filler is a blend of tobaccos from Honduras and Nicaragua. A Nicaraguan Havana Seed binder comes next. Topping off the composition is a Cameroon wrapper, which supposedly gives the cigar a finish that’s both smooth and long. Speaking of smooth, this is one cigar that won’t bowl you over with strength, and it’s categorized as being medium-bodied.
