Speaking of flavors, this is a tasty cigar. The Salutem’s first third is marked by notes of sweetness and cocoa that are delicious. The cocoa continues into the second third and things turn up just a bit with some pepper. I also detect leather here at the halfway point. The final third completes the experience with cocoa, coffee, nuts, and sweetness and is my favorite part of the cigar.
The Carlos Torano Salutem Robusto Extra is yet another excellent cigar from the brand. It had good construction, an attractive appearance, and superb flavor. This is a cigar that’s worth smoking during the morning, afternoon, or nighttime and is a worthy choice for beginners or experienced smokers. A single costs about $7, and it also comes in packs of five or boxes of 12. I would suggest picking up a box and keeping it around for whenever you want something flavorful to entertain your palate.
The Carlos Torano Salutem Robusto Extra earns a perfect rating of four out of four stars since it satisfied in every aspect, especially flavor.
La Gloria Cubana Piramide Supra

If you like big, and I mean big cigars, then the Piramide Supra from La Gloria Cubana should be right up your alley. This line was a limited release from the brand and the folks at General Cigar Co. that had only 777 boxes of 10 produced. To stay true to the cigar’s name, the boxes were designed in a pyramid shape. As a side note, the red pinstriping on each box was chosen partially in honor of the Philadelphia Phillies. Why? They’re the team that represents the hometown of Michael Giannini, La Gloria Cubana’s director of marketing. That’s it for the back story, let’s jump into the cigar itself.
I noted that the La Gloria Cubana Piramide Supra was a big cigar, and its measurements of 7 1/4 x 62 back that up. This large format is the only one released in the line. As for the cigar’s composition, it begins with a filler Dominican tobacco. The binder is Dominican Broadleaf, and the wrapper is of the Ecuadorian Sumatra variety. In terms of strength, the Piramide Supra is listed as falling into the full-bodied category.
