In terms of appearance, the Partagas Serie S Perfecto is a good looking stick. The band near the head features the Partagas name and logo. The red, gold, and white colors of the band blend nicely with the oily wrapper that has a medium brown shade. The Serie S Perfecto feels firm to the touch and I really enjoy looking at its neatly done Figurado shape. I notice no soft spots whatsoever. My pre-light inspection concludes with an earthy scent and cold taste that is sweet.
Once in action, the Partagas Serie S burns like a champ. The ash is solid and light gray in color. There’s a good volume of smoke and the burn is nice and slow. The draw is neither too tight nor too loose. No touch-ups or re-lights are needed. This is a maintenance-free cigar, so I definitely cannot complain here.
In terms of flavor, the Partagas Serie S Perfecto is right on track. The cigar starts off mildly with earth and sweetness. Mild spice soon comes into the picture to make the first third an interesting mix. The second third offers more sweetness, spice, and some nuts. This is the highlight so far and is very enjoyable. The final third caps things off with nuts and coffee. I’d definitely call the Serie S medium-bodied all the way.
Once it was all said and done, the Partagas Serie S Perfecto impressed me. The cigar had excellent construction and a solid burn. Add in a delicious flavor profile, and you have yourself a winner. The cigar comes in packs of five or boxes of 25. A single sells for around $5. That’s a solid value for a quality cigar. I’d recommend it to Partagas fans or anyone looking for a stogie that is smooth and flavorful.
The Partagas Serie S Perfecto earns a rating of 3.5 out of four stars.
