Looking at the Untold Story Maduro, I have to say that it’s definitely eye-catching. You won’t find any huge bands that catch the eye, but the sheer size of the cigar is a sight to behold. It’s quite intimidating, to say the least. There is a small red and gold band near the head that displays the Fuente name and logo. It blends in nicely with the dark brown wrapper. There’s some oil that is visible under direct light, and a few medium veins are detected. Overall, the Untold Story has superb construction and feels firm to the touch. Such is no surprise, as it is a cigar from Arturo Fuente. Before lighting, I sense an aroma of sweetness, and the cold taste is similar.

After lighting, the Fuente Hemingway Untold Story burns without any issues. The draw is good and the burn is even for the most part from beginning to end. Only a few touch-ups are necessary. The solid gray ash looks great. Overall, this is a well-built cigar that burns slow. Due to its size, the smoking time is substantial and well over an hour.

When it comes to the Untold Story Maduro’s flavor, I must say that it is complex. It’s so good that it reminds me of a rich dessert. The first third begins with a blend of sweetness, chocolate, and coffee. The coffee continues into the second third and is joined by rich caramel and nuts. This is the highlight for me. The final third transitions to cedar and spice. Medium-bodied all the way, but full of flavor.

Arturo Fuente’s reputation is definitely well-deserved, and the Hemingway Untold Story Maduro is just another example of a superb smoke from the brand. Superb construction, burn, and immense flavor are all a part of the package, which makes this a must-try. A single sells for around $15 each, but I have seen these listed for twice as much, so your mileage may vary. You can also find it in boxes of 25. Despite the high price tag, you should definitely try at least one. The Hemingway Untold Story Maduro would also make a great gift.

The Arturo Fuente Hemingway Untold Story Maduro earns a perfect rating of four out of four stars.
