It's hard to find a major flaw in this cigar.
Here's that girl that you ended up taking to prom. Careful, not the one you had initially set your sites on...but that all purpose ever reliable gal you thought was only a friend.
It's hard to find a major flaw in this cigar, unless you take a look at the "price creep" that Cuesta-Rey seems to be experiencing with this little guy. Cuesta-Rey has always seemed like a fair priced cigar to us...now we're starting to raise our eyebrows a bit.
Solid flavor, a touch stronger than your used to from this line, nothing overpowering, and quite consistent. A few of our panelists complained of an uncomfortable aftertaste. We expected some young tones to this cigar, but didn't get any. A few strong spice hints, kind of peppery. Again, nothing flashy, just dependable...like that prom date.
The cigar has a solid feel, with a ring gauge big enough to make this feel like a sturdy cigar. The ash was a standard blue/gray, and burned even for most of the cigar. The aroma was pleasant, and not the least bit overpowering.
Give this cigar a try, again it's nothing flashy to light, look at, or smoke, but then again it doesn't disappoint. Admit it, that prom date didn't disappoint either did she/he?
