In terms of appearance, the Ambos Mundos Robusto Habano is rather pedestrian. It's wrapper is slightly oily and light-brown in color. There are very few small veins running throughout, and the cigar seems to have solid construction. It feels firm from head to toe, but not hard like a rock. There are zero soft spots. A simple band with the Ambos Mundos label sits near the head. There is a scent of cedar before lighting, and its cold taste is sweet.
There are no red flags to report in terms of the cigar's burn. It stays even and only needs a couple of touch-ups here and there. The ash has a nice light color but is a tad flaky. The draw is just right.
I wouldn't exactly call the Ambos Mundos Habano complex, but it does have some solid flavor. Cedar is noticed upon lighting. It then shifts to some earth and mellow spice. The final third features some rich cocoa that caps things off. The cigar is very smooth overall and medium-bodied.
The smoking experience offered by the Tatuaje Ambos Mundos Habano is not bad at all. It's not an extravagant cigar in any way, but it's not meant to be. The cigar is solid in construction, burn, and flavor. Will it make a favorite list? That depends, but the Ambos Mundos Habanos is a quality stick that can be enjoyed frequently thanks to its price. Tatuaje offers the cigar in boxes of 25, with a single selling for around $4. I would recommend it while reading the morning paper, or maybe on the golf course. It is smooth enough for beginners as well, and fans of the Tatuaje brand should pick one up to see how it compares to other lines from Pete Johnson.
The Tatuaje Ambos Mundos Robusto No. 1 Habano receives a rating of 3.25 out of four stars.
