A natural looking wrapper with a very light sheen, the Don Tomas will look good in any humidor.
Perhaps overcome by the other cigars reviewed this month, the Don Tomas Cameroon Robusto didn't seem to garner the attention of our three other cigars reviewed in December.
A natural looking wrapper with a very light sheen, the Don Tomas will look good in any humidor. Construction throughout is firm, with a tight looking cap, this cigar looks like time was put into its making.
Once lit, light spices and a medium to heavy flavor begins to emerge. One of the complaints we logged was a overly spicy taste imparted by the wrapper. The taste seemed strong enough to overcome what the cigar was trying to accomplish. Three out of the five reviewers rated the flavor of the Don Tomas Cameroon Robusto a bit under average, while the other two seemed to conspire to almost identical positive ratings. Descriptions included "A mild to light medium smoke with a mild spice, floral and mild hint of coffee taste. Pleasant aftertaste too. Very satisfying."
This is going to be a short review, as most of the reviewers were short with their comments. We're not sure why that is, but we do know it didn't necessarily indicate anything negative. With reviews that came in anywhere from the "C" to "A-" range, the Dom Tomas Cameroon Robusto is worth a try. We recommend checking it out in singles though, as you may find out the spice in this Cameroon wrapper takes you by surprise.
