san cristobalsan cristobal elegancia corona

The appearance of the San Cristobal Elegancia matches its elegant name to a T. The cigar has a pleasing format, and its oily wrapper is light in color. There are a few fine veins visible throughout the body, but no imperfections. Patting down the cigar reveals that it has a little give to it.  A nice decorative band near the head showcases the San Cristobal name over some beautiful graphics, while a thinner one beneath it carries the Elegancia name in cursive. The Elegancia has a sweet pre-light aroma, while the cold taste is of mild spice.

Once lit, the Elegancia Corona burns well from start to finish. The draw is excellent, and there is plenty of thick smoke that fills the air. The slow burn stays even on its own without the need for touch-ups or re-lights. The ash is solid and light gray in color.

In terms of flavor, the Elegancia offers plenty of complexity and smoothness. The first third is marked by mild pepper, coffee, and sweetness.  The pepper continues into the second third and blends with a small burst of earth and creaminess. The final third combines more earth and creaminess and also introduces wood.

I must say that the San Cristobal Elegancia tasted as good as it looked, if not better.  This is truly a classy cigar, and after smoking it, I now realize why it has received such high ratings across the board.  If you enjoy smooth cigars that are still flavorful, you can’t go wrong with the Elegancia.  At about $5 to $6 per single, I consider it to be a solid value.  You can also find the Elegancia in packs of five or boxes of 25.

The San Cristobal Elegancia Corona earns a rating of 3.75 out of four stars.
