Moving into the flavor department of the E.P. Carrillo Club 52, I notice a decent amount of complexity. The cigar's first third is its best portion, as it offers up a nice mix of earth, sweetness, cream, and nuts. The second third picks up in strength just a tad with some peppery notes that give a nice kick. Wood is also noted here. The final third consists of some nuts and more pepper.
Smoking the Club 52 from E.P. Carrillo was an enjoyable experience. The cigar caught me from the start with its presentation, and it continued to impress with the burn and various flavors. At approximately $7 per stick, the Club 52 is fairly priced, but not cheap. Still, give a single a try, or pick up a pack of five to see how you like them. You can also find the Club 52 in boxes of 20.
The E.P. Carrillo Club 52 earns a rating of 3.5 out of four stars.
Rocky Patel Fifty Robusto

The Rocky Patel brand seems to put new cigars on the market at a rapid pace, but I am sure its followers are not complaining. After all, the brand is known for offering a solid smoking experience. The Rocky Patel Fifty is a special release, as it celebrates the fiftieth birthday of Rocky Patel himself. The cigar is said to be complex and full of flavor, so I am anticipating a good one here. Let’s go ahead and take a closer look.
The Rocky Patel Fifty Robusto measures 5 1/2 x 50. There are also other sizes within the Fifty line, including the 6 1/8 x 52 Torpedo and the 6 ½ x 52 Toro. The Fifty has a secret Nicaraguan filler and a pair of secret binders. An Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro wrapper that comes from the tobacco plant’s unique seventh priming completes the composition. The tobaccos used to make the Fifty have been aged eight years, and the entire process to come up with the blend supposedly took four years, so you know the folks at Rocky Patel took their time to construct this commemorative masterpiece. Its strength is listed as medium to full-bodied.
