Looks-wise, the Canimao Originales is attractive.  It has a chocolate brown wrapper that’s inviting.  A bit of oil is noticeable on its surface.  There are also a few prominent veins that can be seen throughout the body.  Near the head of the cigar is a decorative band.  It features the Canimao name in stylish font over a gold and blue color scheme.  Feeling the Originales reveals that it is well-packed with tobacco.  Before lighting, it has a cedar scent and a peppery cold taste.

When in action, the Originales is a solid performer.  Its draw is good, and solid gray ash is produced.  Only a few minor touch-ups are required to correct the burn.  Overall smoking time is around 90 minutes.

The flavor department is where the Canimao Originales impresses the most.  The Originales begins with a nice peppery flavor similar to the one that was hinted in the cold taste.  The pepper gives way to some notes of cedar, as well as some wood.  The final third provides notes of cream and leather for a smooth finish.

The Canimao Originales is not a bad cigar at all.  It impressed with its burn and had solid construction.  I enjoyed the flavors as well.  In terms of price, the Originales can be found for $7 to $8 per single.  It’s not a budget cigar, but at that price it's worth a shot to pick one up.  Look for the Originales in boxes of 10 if you are looking to purchase a decent quantity to keep around the house.  The smooth nature of the Originales would pair nicely with a cup of coffee.

The Canimao Originales earns a score of 3.5 out of four stars.
