If first impressions mean anything, then the Core Line Encantos will be a wonderful cigar. Its creamy brown wrapper is very enticing, and there is a slight amount of oil that is visible. There are only a few small veins that are present. Other than that, the cigar is virtually flawless in its construction and seems to be well-packed with tobacco. The triple cap is done neatly as well. An attractive band sits near the head that displays the EP Carrillo name. Its red, black, gold, and white colors add a nice touch to the cigar's overall appearance. The pre-light taste is spicy, while the scent is of rich coffee.
The positive first impressions gleaned from the Core Line Encantos' appearance come through in its excellent burn. The burn is even from start to finish and requires no touch-ups or re-lighting. The draw is good, and there is a nice volume of smoke. The solid gray ash is another plus.
If you enjoy cigars with a good amount of flavor, then EP Carrillo should reel you in here. White pepper is the first flavor that is noticeable, and it remains until the second third. The second third is filled with creaminess and a sweet fruit flavor. The final third is characterized by some cedar and coffee. The cigar seems to be more medium-bodied, but it does have a bit of a kick. It also gets smoother as the smoke progresses.
If you have managed to read this far into the review, you can tell that the Core Line Encantos provided quite a very enjoyable smoking experience. It really impresses in all facets, from appearance to burn to flavor. Who would enjoy the cigar? Probably more experienced smokers, as well as those who are looking for something with a lot of flavor. The Core Line provides that without being too overbearing. A single sells for around $6, which is not bad considering the quality of the product. You can also find it in packs of five or boxes of 20, and yes, it is box-worthy.
The EP Carrillo Core Line Encantos earns a rating of 3.5 out of four stars.
