The construction of just about every Graycliff, be it the Professionale series, or any of their cigars is beyond reproach. You won’t find a flaw. An unbelievably beautiful white ash hangs on for almost the entire cigar. In fact you’ll find yourself playing games with how long you can make that ash hang on. We all know a long an ash is a sign of an extremely well made cigar. These fit that bill.
Interestingly enough, you’ll find some sweetness mixed amongst the spice. While strong they never seem to get harsh. I find myself smoking these down to the nub and that is not a very common occurrence for me. I usually find myself tossing a cigar with an inch or so left, as I don’t like the harshness that can come from the additional heat. With the Graycliff Professionale PG this never seems to be a problem. I know a lot of people like to compare great cigars against Cuban cigars of the same size, but I don’t think that’s always fair…for the Cuban cigar or the non Cuban cigar. In the case of the Graycliff though, you will notice some of the strength of the Cuban robustos, it’s just not quite the same. It’s almost as though the Graycliff Professionale PG can deliver a crisper more concise power than that which will get from an all Cuban cigar.
If you’re a big fan of Cuban cigars, use this as a fantastic alternative to your world class Cubans. It’s different, and can make you appreciate the subtle differences blunders can make it a cigar. In fact one of the most enjoyable experience as I have been smoking a good Cuban robusto, followed by a good Graycliff Professionale robusto, and enjoying a they complement in contrast each other.
If you get the chance to enjoy a Graycliff Professionale cigar, do it. If you get the chance to visit the estate in the Bahamas, jump at chance. You’ll find yourself being amazed at how one organization can exude quality and everything they do.
