The flavor of the Gurkha 125th Anniversary begins as smooth as expected, with sweet notes dominating the first third. Vanilla comes into play and continues into the second third, which also features nuts and that mild spice detected in the pre-light inspection. Capping off the smoking experience is the final third and its sweet and nutty notes. This is a very smooth cigar that is medium-bodied, just as advertised.
I definitely enjoyed the smooth nature of the Gurkha 125th Anniversary Robusto. It offered solid construction, that typical eye-catching Gurkha appearance, and a pleasant blend of flavors. It would be a good cigar during the morning hours, and its smooth nature makes it okay for beginners. A single costs around $8 to $9, and you can also find the 125th Anniversary in boxes of 20. I’d pick up a few to keep handy when you just want to kick back and relax.
The Gurkha 125th Anniversary Robusto earns a rating of 3.5 out of four stars for its smoothness, good construction, and attractive appearance.
Jameson Red Label Toro

The Red Label is one of the original releases from Jameson Cigar Co. It’s also one of the brand’s mildest cigars. Jameson is a boutique cigar company that produces lines in small batches, so that enticed me into giving one of their Red Label Toros a try for this cigar review.
The Jameson Red Label Toro measures 6 x 52. Other sizes in the line include the 5 x 44 Corona, 5 x 50 Robusto, 5 x 54 Perfecto, and the 6 x 54 Torpedo. The Red Label’s composition begins with a filler made from aged Dominican tobacco. The binder is Honduran, and an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper completes the composition. As I mentioned earlier in the intro, the Red Label is one of the mildest offerings from the brand and is said to be medium-bodied in strength.
