I love the Belicoso shape of this J. Fuego Sangre de Toro that I have in my hands.  The cap is nicely done and the cigar looks great.  The Colorado wrapper is oily and smooth.  Its color is dark and has a bit of a reddish tint to it. There are no soft spots and the cigar appears to be well-packed with tobacco.  The decorative band near the head adds to an already solid appearance.  Its yellow background provides a nice contrast to the dark wrapper.  The J. Fuego name and logo as well as the Sangre de Toro name are both printed on the brand in stylish font.  Both the pre-light aroma and flavor are spicy.

Once lit, the J. Fuego Sangre de Toro is a solid performer.  The draw is just right, and there's a lot of thick smoke that is emitted during the slow burn.  The ash is long and dark gray in color.  The burn stays even from beginning to end, and there are no touch-ups or re-lights that are necessary.

As far as its flavor is concerned, I would call the Sangre de Toro Belicoso complex.  It’s also as spicy as advertised.  The cigar is full-bodied and offers some nice kick.  There’s just the right amount of kick included to let you know it’s there right from the start, as it begins with a first third that is dominated by spiciness.  The spiciness continues into the second third and blends with some cedar, sweetness, and chocolate.  The final third combines more cedar and chocolate and also brings some herbal notes into the equation for a nice finale.

I was impressed by the Sangre de Toro simply from its name, and that positive impression continued until the cigar was completed.  The Sangre de Toro looked great, burned well, and offered nice complexity.  This is a good choice for fans of Nicaraguan puros or experienced smokers who like spicy cigars.  A single falls in the $6 range, and you can also find the Sangre de Toro in packs of five or ten.

The J. Fuego Sangre de Toro Belicoso earns a rating of 3.75 out of four stars.
