At first glance, the CAO Escaparate Ecuador Robusto is a beautiful cigar. The golden wrapper has some oil on the surface and a few sporadic veins. As usual, CAO presents this stick with a beautiful band near the head that showcases the CAO logo and Escaparate Ecuador name. The bright red, yellow, and blue colors match the Ecuadorian flag and really stand out. There’s also a band at the foot with the Corona Cigar Co. logo. Touching the Escaparate Ecuador, I notice a little bit of give. There’s a cold taste and aroma prior to lighting that are both of cedar.
The CAO Escaparate Ecuador lights with ease and supplies an excellent draw. There’s plenty of aromatic smoke that fills the room. The burn stays even for the most part, but it requires a couple of touch-ups here and there. Overall, I’d call the burn satisfactory.
In terms of flavor, the CAO Escaparate Ecuador is enjoyable. It gets off to a creamy start and also offers up some mild spice and nuts in the first third. The creamy and spicy notes continue into the second third and are joined by leather. The final third features earth and nuts. This is a medium-bodied smoke all the way that is as smooth as advertised.
I really enjoyed the CAO Escaparate Ecuador Robusto. The cigar really caught my eye with its presentation, and that positive impression continued with the burn and the flavor. It’s not too complex, but it is smooth and would go great with a cup of coffee in the morning. Beginners or experienced smokers looking for something medium-bodied and flavorful should give the Escaparate Ecuador a shot. A single sells for around $8, but you can also find it in packs of five or ruedas of 50.
The CAO Escaparate Ecuador Robusto receives a rating of 3.75 out of four stars.
