Moving on to the flavor department, I would call the Illusione Cruzado a flavorful and enjoyable cigar. Coffee is first noticed once the cigar is lit, and it is soon joined by leather and some mild spice. The mild spice continues into the second third and picks up in strength. Chocolate and cedar are also present in the second third. The final third offers up more coffee and chocolate, plus some nuts.
Once the Illusione Cruzado finally retired, I have to say that it impressed me. It passed the test in all departments, including appearance, burn, and flavor. It was not too strong, but had enough of a kick to satisfy those who prefer a bit of strength. Beginners should be fine with the Cruzado Domenicos Extra, and those who prefer flavorful cigars with larger ring gauges might find it to be right up their alley. It can be found in boxes of 20, with a single averaging around $9 to $10 each. Pick one up and see what you think. At its price point, it is probably not an everyday smoke, but if you want something to enjoy over the weekend or during a special occasion, don’t hesitate to try the Illusione Cruzado.
The Illusione Cruzado Domenicos Extra earns a rating of 3.75 out of four stars.
La Aurora Escogidos Maduro Robusto

La Aurora tagged its Escogidos line with its Spanish moniker that translates to “the chosen ones” because you can supposedly only come across these stogies at the company’s factory or special events. A quick search on the net, however, reveals that the Escogidos is available online. Regardless, let’s see what this 2011 release has to offer so you can determine if it’s worthy of a spot in your humidor.
The La Aurora Escogidos Maduro Robusto measures 5 x 50. The Robusto is apparently the only format available in the line. The cigar's filler and binder both consist of Dominican tobaccos, and its composition is completed by a Brazilian Mata Fina wrapper. You can also find it in a Cameroon wrapper, however. In terms of strength, the Escogidos Maduro is listed as being medium-bodied.
