J.C. Newman Brick House Mighty Mighty Maduro
The popular Brick House line from J.C. Newman got a boost during the 2012 IPCPR show when it was announced that it would have a new addition in the form of the boldly named Mighty Mighty Maduro. Big in size and flavor, the Mighty Mighty Maduro was created in response to fan demand for a Maduro version of the Brick House, as well as those who enjoy cigars with big ring gauges.
The J.C. Newman Brick House Mighty Mighty Maduro measures a hefty 6 1/4 x 60. It’s the only size currently issued with the new Maduro wrapper, so if you are a fan of cigars with smaller ring gauges, you are out of luck for now. The cigar is made from a Nicaraguan filler and binder similar to the one found in the original Brick House. Where it differs is with its Brazilian Arapiraca Maduro wrapper. The strength of the Mighty Mighty Maduro is said to be full-bodied.
The appearance of the Brick House Mighty Mighty Maduro matches its bold name to a T. The cigar is quite big, and its oily wrapper is very dark. There are a few fine veins visible throughout the body. Patting down the cigar reveals that it has a little give to it, but no real soft spots. A nice decorative band near the head showcases the Brick House name, while a thinner one beneath it carries the Maduro label. The Mighty Mighty Maduro has a sweet pre-light aroma, while the cold taste is of rich chocolate.
Once lit, the J.C. Newman Brick House Mighty Mighty Maduro burns well from start to finish. The draw is excellent, and there is plenty of thick smoke that fills the air. The slow burn stays even on its own without the need for touch-ups or re-lights. The ash is solid and light gray in color.
