la aurorala aurora preferidos diamond

The flavor packed within the La Aurora Preferidos Diamond is pleasant.  The first third starts off with chocolate and mild tobacco that were detected in the pre-light inspection.  The second third switches things up with a transition to cedar, sweetness, and coffee.  The coffee is quite tasty, and I wish there was more of it.  The final third offers up a mix of sweetness, cedar, and more chocolate.  I’d call the Preferidos Diamond more medium-bodied than full-bodied.

The La Aurora brand has been around for a long time and has produced some quality smokes.  The Preferidos Diamond is no different.  It was smooth and had plenty of flavor.  Add to that a great burn and great presentation, and you have yourself a cigar worthy of buying.  Speaking of which, a single costs about $20.  It is not cheap, but some of that probably has to do with its tubed presentation.  Regardless, the Preferidos Diamond is not all style, as it has plenty of substance as well.  Pick one up for a special occasion and you won’t be disappointed.

The La Aurora Preferidos Diamond earns a rating of 3.75 out of four stars

CLE Corojo 2012 Robusto

After Christian Eiroa stopped lending his hand towards the creation of Camacho and Baccarat cigars, he decided to put his name to the CLE brand.  The Corojo 2012 is a line that was introduced last year at the IPCPR show.  Seeing how it comes from a company owned by a man like Eiroa, I’m expecting a great smoking experience.  Will the Corojo 2012 deliver?  Let’s find out.

The CLE Corojo 2012 Robusto measures 5 x 50.  It also comes in several other sizes: the 6 x 48, 6 x 60, and 5 ¾ x 46.  The Corojo 2012 is a Honduran puro, made completely of Honduran tobaccos.  The cigar is highlighted by its authentic Corojo seed wrapper that gives it its name.  The Corojo 2012 is said to hover somewhere between medium and full-bodied in strength.
